Deploying an agent to a Flex runtime

Prerequisites

Complete the following tasks before deploying your agent to a self-hosted runtime. Refer to Using your own models with agents for additional details on requirements for this Early Access feature.

Important considerations

  • Anytime you create a Flex runtime and add an Agent workload to it, your runtime automatically displays in the Environments page in Agentstudio. Manage your Flex runtime environment in the Runtime Management screen in the Platform home page.
  • Invoke deployed agents using your own model in an Integration process. Refer to Configuring the Agent step for detailed steps.
  • Deployed agents using your own model provider can use Conversational mode but must be used in agentic workflows in Integration. However, we recommend Structured mode for Integration processes. Conversational interactions through Agent Garden Chat panel and Embed Kit are not currently available.

Deploy your agent

  1. Navigate to Agentstudio > Agent Garden > Agents and select your agent to open it.
  2. In the Review tab, select Create.
  3. Select Create Package & Deploy. The runtime where your model is attached automatically displays. The package version is automatically generated. You can review packages and deployments in the Packages and Deployments screen.
  4. Select Go to Integration to set up your agentic workflow using Agent step. Refer to Configuring the Agent step.
  5. (Optional) To delete or disable agent deployments, navigate to Packages and Deployments. Refer to Packaging and deploying an agent for details on managing deployments.
