Adding a model to an agent

The Models page lets you connect models from your own LLM provider accounts. After you connect your account and select models you want available, you can attach a specific model to an agent you create in the Agent Designer. Refer to Connecting models to Agentstudio to learn how to add your model account.

Prerequisites

  • A Flex runtime attached to at least one environment. Refer to Prerequisites in Using your own models with agents for details on how to set up a Flex runtime.
  • An API key from supported providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google).
  • BYOM enabled for your account. Refer to Prerequisites in Using your own models with agents for details on how to sign up for early access.
  • Only agentic workflows in Integration currently support agents with your own LLM connection. Conversational agents are not supported.

Attaching a model to an agent

  1. Navigate to Agentstudio > Agent Garden > Agents. Open the agent.
  2. In Configuration, select Change Model. By default, agents use Boomi-managed models (Standard - Claude Sonnet 4.5) and (Fast - Claude Haiku 4.5).
  3. Select the Self-Managed tab.
  4. (Optional) Filter by provider.
  5. Select the model. If a model has multiple connections, select the connection name.
  6. Select Save.

Next steps

  1. Complete agent building, then package and deploy your agent to a Flex runtime.
  2. Add your ingress endpoint in your runtime configuration.
  3. Create or edit a process in Integration to use Agent step. Attach your agent to the Agent step configuration to create an agentic workflow.
