Orchestrate FAQ
Orchestrate is an Early Access release. Refer to the Early Access disclaimer for details.
General
What is Boomi Orchestrate?
Boomi Orchestrate is an AI-driven solution design tool that helps you design multi-product solutions using natural language. You describe a business goal, and Boomi Orchestrate generates a solution architecture using the appropriate Boomi products and assets.
Who can use Boomi Orchestrate?
Boomi Orchestrate is available to accounts enrolled in the Early Access program. Within those accounts, users with the Build Read and Write privilege for Integration can access the One Platform experience. Contact your account administrator to verify your access.
Does Boomi Orchestrate deploy or run my solution?
No. In the current release, Boomi Orchestrate is a design-time tool only. It helps you design and build the asset structure for a solution. After Orchestrate builds assets, you configure and deploy them in their respective Boomi products.
What Boomi products can Boomi Orchestrate include in a solution?
Boomi Orchestrate can generate solutions that include assets from Integration, Master Data Hub, API Management, and Agentstudio. Event Streams availability varies by account.
Solutions and assets
Does Boomi Orchestrate use my existing assets when generating a solution?
No. When you generate a solution using a prompt, Boomi Orchestrate creates new assets. It does not introspect or reuse existing assets from your account.
What happens to my assets if I delete a solution?
Deleting a solution removes it from your workspace, but does not delete the assets that Orchestrate built as part of it. Built assets continue to exist in their respective Boomi products. To delete a built asset, navigate to the corresponding product and delete it from there.
Can I rename an asset after it is built?
No. After Orchestrate builds an asset, you cannot change its name and description in Boomi Orchestrate. To change the name, navigate to the asset in its home product using the deep link in the asset detail panel. However, you can edit asset details when the asset is in the Configured state. Otherwise, Orchestrate locks assets from the moment it creates them.
Why does a product node on my canvas show as unlicensed?
If your account does not have access to a particular Boomi product, the corresponding asset node is labeled as unlicensed or not enabled. Orchestrate still displays the solution with that node for discovery purposes. Orchestrate does not create an asset for that product during the build process until your administrator enables the product for your account.
Design experience
Can I start a solution from a blank canvas?
No. You must start a solution from a prompt or a template. This ensures the AI has enough context to generate a useful solution design.
Can multiple people work on the same solution at the same time?
Yes, but Boomi Orchestrate uses a last-person-wins approach for parallel editing. When two users save changes at the same time, the most recent save overwrites the earlier one. There are no notifications when another user is editing the same solution.
What happens if I navigate away from the canvas while an asset is building?
If you leave the canvas during a build, the build may continue in the background, but you will not see the updated asset state when you return. The asset may or may not have been created in its product. Stay on the canvas until the build completes to see the result.
Can I undo changes or restore a previous version of a solution?
No. Boomi Orchestrate supports roll-forward versioning only. You cannot restore a previous version of a solution.
Business view
Does Business view update automatically when I change the solution?
No. Business view is generated on demand. If you change the solution graph in Solution view, you must regenerate Business view to reflect the updates.
Access and enablement
How does my account administrator enable Boomi Orchestrate?
Account administrators can enable Boomi Orchestrate from Settings > Features by turning on the Orchestrate toggle. This enables the feature for the entire account. Refer to Access and permissions for more information.
Do I need to accept Terms and Conditions to use Boomi Orchestrate?
Yes. You must accept the Boomi AI Terms and Conditions before you can create solutions. If you have not accepted them, Boomi Orchestrate entry points are disabled.
How do I join the Boomi Orchestrate Early Access program?
Sign up to get access. The Product Management team reviews sign-ups and enables access for approved accounts.
