Removing a source from a model

Remove a source from a model if the source system will neither contribute data to, nor accept updates of data from, domains that were created as a result of deployment of the model.

About this task

Deleting a source from a deployed model and deploying the new version of the model automatically removes the attached source from the repository it is deployed. If the deployment fails, then the source is not removed.

To reattach source configurations to the domain, you can reconfigure sources in the model and deploy the new version to the repository or you can configure sources in the domain.

If you remove a source from a model that was set as the default source, the model will no longer have a default source.

You cannot delete the only contributing source linked to a golden record. Model deployment will fail because the new model version removes the only contributing source from the domain. Before deleting a source that has contributed data, add another contributing source.

Existing data from deleted sources

When you remove a source and deploy the new model version to a repository, the data previously contributed by the source is not deleted. However, staged data and staging environments are deleted.

Procedure

  1. In the Model page, select a model.

  2. Select Sources.

  3. Select the X in the Action column next to the source you want to remove.

  4. Optional: Add new sources and configurations, if desired.

  5. Do one of the following:

    • Select Save as Draft to save the model. Sources are not removed from the model that is attached to the domain until you publish and deploy the model.

    or

    1. Select Publish when you are ready to deploy the model. Add publication notes, if desired.
    2. Select Save.
