Knowledge Hub FAQ
Knowledge Hub is an Early Access release. Refer to the Early Access disclaimer for details.
How is Knowledge Hub different from a vector store?
Knowledge Hub is the managed end-to-end solution: it runs ingestion, chunking, enrichment, retrieval, and governance as one product, from connecting a source to serving governed results. With Boomi Agentstudio, you build the agents and the data they run on in one platform. A vector store is only one piece of that, leaving you to assemble everything else yourself.
Do I need data science or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) expertise?
No. As a managed solution, Knowledge Hub handles the entire process for you, from ingestion to retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipeline setup for your agents. You can connect data sources to Knowledge Hub using Boomi's guided flows, regardless of your technical expertise.
Where is my data stored?
Your data is stored in the region you choose, encrypted in transit and at rest, meeting enterprise residency requirements by default.
Who has access to my data?
Only the agents and users you authorize. Knowledge Hub enforces access at query time, so every request returns only what the caller is permitted to see, never the whole store. Access follows Boomi's platform role-based access control model: agents are authorized per Knowledge Base, and connections use short-lived, revocable tokens.
Can I use my own vector store or embedding model?
Knowledge Hub runs fully managed today, with a serverless, auto-scaling vector store built in. Bring-your-own vector store and embedding model support are planned for a future release with specific geographic, cost, or domain requirements.
How do I get started?
Knowledge Hub is in Early Access now. Refer to Access and permissions overview to request access, or refer to Quickstart: ingest your first data source and query it to see it work with your data and agents.
