Managing repository lifecycle
note
Knowledge Hub is an Early Access release. Refer to the Early Access disclaimer for details.
A repository enters Enabled state as soon as you create it and remains in that state. Repositories have no Disable action. You can update a repository's title and description, or remove it entirely. This topic covers each of these actions.
Repository states
| State | Description |
|---|---|
| Enabled | The repository and its Knowledge Bases are active and available for ingestion and retrieval. A repository enters this state automatically when you create it. |
| Update | Not a state change. You can edit the repository's title or description at any time without affecting the Enabled state or its Knowledge Bases. |
| Delete | Permanently removes the repository, along with all its Knowledge Bases and their indexed data. This action cannot be undone. |
Disabling and archiving are not currently supported for repositories.
Updating a repository
Updating lets you change a repository's title or description after creation. It does not affect the repository's state or any attached Knowledge Bases.
- In Knowledge Hub, select Repositories.
- Locate the repository and select the Actions menu (⋮).
- Select Update.
- In the Edit Repository dialog, update the Repository Title (maximum 150 characters), the Description (maximum 1000 characters), or both.
- Select Save to apply your changes, or Cancel to discard them.
Deleting a repository
Deleting permanently removes the repository record and all associated Knowledge Bases and their indexed data. This action cannot be undone.
- In Knowledge Hub, select Repositories.
- Locate the repository, select the ⋮ menu, and select Delete.
- Review the Delete Repository? dialog, which shows how many Knowledge Bases you will delete along with the repository.
- Select Delete to confirm.
