Configuring Knowledge Hub as a target
Knowledge Hub is an Early Access release. Refer to the Early Access disclaimer for details.
To bring data into Knowledge Hub, you configure a source-to-target (S2T) flow in Data Integration and select Knowledge Hub as the target. All source setup, schema configuration, data preparation, and scheduling happen in Data Integration. You can start this flow from either Data Integration or Knowledge Hub. This topic covers both starting points, what you need to have ready before you start, and what appears in Knowledge Hub after you deploy.
What to prepare first
Before you start the S2T flow, confirm the following are in place in Knowledge Hub:
| Requirement | Where to set it up |
|---|---|
| A repository in Enabled state | Creating a repository |
| A Knowledge Base in Draft or Enabled state | Creating a Knowledge Base |
| Embedding model confirmed on the Knowledge Base | Configuring embedding settings |
Two ways to start the flow
Option 1: Start in Data Integration. Build a new S2T flow and, when you reach the Target step:
- Select Knowledge Hub as the target type.
- Select the Repository.
- Select the Knowledge Base.
Have both names ready before you start, since you select them manually.
Option 2: Start in Knowledge Hub. On the Sources tab of the Knowledge Base:
- Select a Data Provider (for example, Boomi Data Integration).
- Select Create Source.
This opens Data Integration in a new tab to build the S2T flow, with the Repository and Knowledge Base already selected as the target, since you started from that Knowledge Base's Sources tab. After you deploy, return to the Sources tab and select Refresh to see the new Source.
For all other Data Integration steps (source connector setup, schema selection, extraction settings, data preparation, schedule, and deploy), refer to the Knowledge Hub target topic in the Data Integration documentation.
What you see in Knowledge Hub after deploy
When you deploy the flow from Data Integration:
- Data Integration sends a configuration snapshot to Knowledge Hub.
- A new Source record appears on the Sources tab of the target Knowledge Base, in Draft state.
- Knowledge Hub generates the Source name automatically in the format
[ConnectorType]-[FlowName]. - Ingestion does not start automatically. You must enable the Source.
Enabling the Source after deploy
The Source starts in Draft state and does not begin ingestion automatically. Enable it from the Sources tab to start the first ingestion run. Refer to Managing source lifecycle for the enabling steps and all other Source actions.
