Getting started with Knowledge Hub

note

Knowledge Hub is an Early Access release. Refer to the Early Access disclaimer for details.

Complete the steps in this topic before you create your first Knowledge Base: validate your access, generate your platform token, and set up your Data Integration connections.

Step 1: Validating your access

Confirm you meet all the requirements in Prerequisites before you continue. Only an administrator can grant most items.

If something is missing, refer to the Troubleshooting table at the end of this topic for what you see and how to resolve it.

Step 2: Generating your platform token

The platform token authenticates the connection from Data Integration to Knowledge Hub. You generate it once and reuse it across connections. This step requires the API Access privilege from Step 1.

Generate and copy your token from the Platform API Tokens overview page. It is shown only once, so copy it immediately.

note

Refer to the Platform API Tokens overview page for token limits and what to do if a token expires.

Step 3: Setting up your connections in Data Integration

You set up two kinds of connection in Data Integration. Connections are reusable: after you create them, you or another user can select them again when building future Knowledge Bases, including users who are not connector experts.

3a. Connecting Data Integration to Knowledge Hub as the target

Configure the target step of your Data Integration source-to-target flow, and enter the platform token from Step 2 when prompted. Refer to the Knowledge Hub target topic in the Data Integration documentation for the full procedure.

3b. Setting up your source connections

Create connections to the data sources you want to bring into Knowledge Hub. Refer to Supported data sources for the full connector list. Setting these up now means future Knowledge Bases can reuse them instead of configuring a new connection each time.

With these steps complete, you can create your first Knowledge Base and add Data Integration as a source, reusing the connections from Step 3.
