Consumption dashboard

Updated 1 October 2026
note

Knowledge Hub is an Early Access release. Refer to the Early Access disclaimer for details.

The Consumption dashboard displays account consumption across ingestion, storage, and retrieval so you can monitor usage and avoid billing surprises. It appears when you open Knowledge Hub. Values come directly from API responses; the dashboard does not compute totals client-side.

Before you begin

You need the Administrator role to view the Consumption dashboard. Refer to Access and permissions overview. Other roles do not have access to this dashboard during Early Access.

note

To open a link copied from the dashboard, you also need the Administrator role.

Default state

When you open the dashboard, it shows:

  • Repository: All
  • Knowledge Base: All
  • Date range: Past 7 Days
  • Timezone: the default timezone (marked Default in the list)
  • Selected metric: Data Ingested

To reset the filters to this default state, select the Actions menu (⋮), then select Reset.

Reading the metric cards

Three headline cards summarize account usage for the selected filters:

CardWhat it shows
Data IngestedThe volume of data ingested during the selected date range.
Data PersistedThe average daily volume of data stored (indexed) across your Knowledge Bases. Storage is measured a few times a day. The card shows the daily average.
Number of Retrieval RequestsThe count of retrieval queries issued to Knowledge Hub during the selected date range.

Each card displays:

  • The metric value (for example, 8.16 MiB, 3.55 GiB, 30)
  • A percentage change indicator (for example, ↑77%, ↑1.5%, ↓73%) showing the change from the previous period. The previous period is an equal-length period immediately before the selected date range. For example, if you select 10/08/2026 to 10/14/2026 (7 days), the previous period is 10/01/2026 to 10/07/2026.

Select a card to plot that metric on the trend chart. Data Ingested is selected by default. The trend chart title updates to show which metric is plotted (for example, Daily Ingestion Volume).

Reading the trend chart

The trend chart plots the selected metric as a single series over the selected date range.

Filtering the dashboard

Use the filter bar to scope the cards and trend chart:

FilterOptions
RepositoryAll, or a specific repository
Knowledge BaseAll, or one or more specific Knowledge Bases.
Date rangePast 7 Days, Past 30 Days, or Custom Date Range. Only day ranges are supported. Custom Date Range displays start and end date fields (for example, 09/25/2026 to 10/01/2026).
TimezoneSelect a timezone from the list. The list shows the full timezone name and UTC offset, for example, (UTC+05:30) India Standard Time (Asia/Calcutta). The default option is marked Default.

Switching the timezone filter re-renders existing timestamps. It does not re-fetch totals. A Last Updated timestamp at the top right shows when the dashboard data was last refreshed.

Toolbar actions

Select the Actions menu (⋮) in the top right of the dashboard to:

ActionWhat it does
Download CSVDownloads the current view's data as a CSV file.
Download PDFDownloads the current view's data as a PDF file.
Copy URLCopies a link to the current filtered view. Recipients need the Administrator role to open it.
ResetReturns all filters and the selected metric to the default state.

Data refresh and edge cases

  • Data does not refresh automatically. To load the latest data, select the refresh icon next to the Last Updated timestamp.
  • An in-progress ingestion or retrieval job is not reflected in the numbers until the job completes.

Error and empty states

  • If the aggregation API returns an error, the dashboard shows an error state instead of stale numbers.
  • If the selected filters return no data, the dashboard shows an empty state: an illustration, a No Results message, guidance to adjust or reset your filters, and a Reset action.
  • If your account has no recorded usage yet, the dashboard shows an equivalent zero state with copy suited to a first-time account.
