Using Additional Criteria when defining segments

You can define EDI profile segments with additional elements.

Procedure

1. Open an EDI profile.

2. On the Data Elements tab, expand the tree and select the segment.

3. On the right side of the page, expand the Additional Criteria section.

4. Select the Use Additional Criteria to Define Segment? check box.

5. Click the Choose Element icon, select one of the child data elements for this segment and click OK.

6. In the Element Value field, enter a string value for the data element used to uniquely define the segment.

   In the example of an HL shipment segment, the data element references the HL03 data element and the element value is S.

7. Click Save.
