Viewing and moving Components to a new folder
Use the component's Folder Details dialog to view and copy the component's folder path or move the component to a new folder in Component Explorer.
-
Click the Folder icon at the top of the opened component or process on the Build page to open the Folder Details dialog.
-
Click the Show Location button to view the component's current folder location.
The window in the Folder Details dialog also lists the component's folder path in Component Explorer, which you can copy using the Copy Folder Path button for sharing with other users.
-
Click the search bar to select a different folder to move a component to another folder, in the New Folder Location portion of the Folder Details dialog.
-
Click Move to move the component to the selected folder. This action will save any changes to the component.
-
Alternatively, click the plus (+) icon in the search bar to create a new folder and select the new folder location when copying and moving folders and components.
-
You must have the Build Read and Write access role to move components. Users with Build Read Access privileges or insufficient folder permissions cannot move a folder to another folder.
Commit any unsaved changes made to the component before proceeding. The Move action changes only the folder location of the parent component; child components remain unaffected during a folder move.
