Configuring MFT dropbox™ with message password mode

The Dropbox file download page supports Message Password Mode and Request Login protection mode.

MFT supports two styles of a Dropbox file download: Regular mode and MFT email-style mode.

A back-end metadata setting controls the behavior of the Dropbox notification email link.

  • Regular mode: This mode redirects to the internal MFT site page and requires full MFT portal user authentication for a Dropbox file recipient.

  • MFT email-style mode: This redirects to a MFT email-style Dropbox download page, which can be protected by Request Login or Message Password mode. It lets users with no accounts in the MFT Web portal to register or enter a message password and download the files uploaded via Dropbox.

Enable Message Password Mode

The Dropbox page has a Message Password field for creating a password in a Message Password Mode.

To use a message password on the Dropbox page and on the Distribution page emailed on Dropbox action, two settings should be enabled:

You can enable Message Password Mode on the Dropbox page and the MFT email-style Dropbox download page.

Procedure

  1. Set the Dropbox notification email link to the MFT email-style Dropbox download page via a back-end metadata setting.
