Receiving an MFT message
When a user sends a message with MFT, the recipient of the message receives an email notification.
The email notification includes custom branding and messaging, which can be configured by the company's MFT Administrators.
To download files, the recipient clicks the provided link or URL and is directed to a secure download page. The notification also displays an expiration date, indicating when the files will no longer be available for download.
If a recipient needs to download files after the expiration date, they must contact the file sender to request an extension.
Requesting login (Registered deliveries)
Before sending an MFT message, you can use the Request Login feature that requires recipients to register before they can download the file or folder you sent them.
With this feature enabled, the recipient cannot download any content sent with MFT unless they have a registered username and password.
- To require recipients of an MFT message to register before downloading content, click the Request Login icon when composing your MFT message.
Your message will be sent with the Request Login feature enabled.
- Type your MFT message and send it.
To learn how to receive a download link that requires registration, refer to Secure Delivery Login – Registered Recipient Login.
Adding MFT Dropbox™ link to email signature
Any MFT user with a Home folder can create an MFT Dropbox™ link to include in an Outlook email signature. This link allows non-MFT users to securely send large files and sensitive information directly to a user's MFT Dropbox™.
All of this mail goes directly into the MFT Dropbox™, which is accessed by the MFT user in the same way as any other email.
To create your link, replace the "companyname" text and the email address "name@companyname.com" with your company's MFT site name and your email address in the format below.
MFT Dropbox™ URL format: https://companyname.thruinc.net/Desktop/Dropbox/Create/?toemail=name@companyname.com
-
For Example, https://demo.thruinc.net/Desktop/Dropbox/Create/?toemail=name@abctechnology.com.
-
If your company has a unique MFT site URL that does not end in .thruinc.net as shown above, then fill in your MFT site URL in place of https://companyname.thruinc.net\ at the beginning of the MFT Dropbox link. Example: https://filetransfer.companyname.com/Desktop/Dropbox/Create/?toemail=name@companyname.com
