Using MFT Outlook add-in

You can use Boomi Managed File Transfer Add-In (Connector) for Microsoft Outlook (referenced as "MFT Connector for Microsoft Outlook" in the software and shortened as "MFT Add-In" in this document).

The MFT Outlook Add-in is only for the desktop version of Outlook.

System requirements for MFT Outlook add-in

For proper operation of the MFT for the Microsoft Outlook add-in, the following software and hardware requirements must be met:

  • Operating Systems

    • Windows 11
    • Windows 10
    • Windows 8.1
    • Windows 7

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 or greater

  • Windows administrator access (for installation purposes only)

  • Email Clients

    • Microsoft Outlook 2016 (both 32-bit and 64-bit versions)
    • Microsoft Outlook 2013 (both 32-bit and 64-bit versions)
    • Microsoft Outlook 2010 (both 32-bit and 64-bit versions)
    important

    Outlook Cached Exchange Mode should always be enabled.

    • Cached mode is a general requirement for the Outlook add-in to work. It is the default MS configuration.
    • With the Cached mode disabled, we may be unable to resolve recipient addresses in some scenarios. Sometimes it may work, but it could be intermittent.

    Newly discovered bugs will not be fixed for Outlook 2010.

  • Hard Drive Space

    • 28 MB or greater

  • MFT Add-In for Outlook does not support Gmail integrations via IMAP or MAPI; currently, MFT Add-In for Outlook works only with Microsoft Exchange or Office 365.
  • Users in the Basic User Group cannot use this Microsoft Outlook add-in.
