Using summary tab

The Summary tab lets you view and edit the name and description of a file or folder. It also displays the original uploader, the last user who modified the file, and the date of the last modification.

The "Inquire" link opens a new email with the email address of the relevant contact person for inquiries about the information.

You can update the name and description of a folder or file using the Modify button.

Viewing storage information

To view the storage usage of a folder, follow these steps.

  1. Navigate to the Managed File Transfer File Sharing page.
  2. Choose a folder from the folder tree and select the Summary tab.
  3. Click Storage Information.

You can view the following details about the selected folder:

  • Number of files
  • Number of sub-folders
  • Total storage used

Using Preview

You can preview PDF documents and image files in the MFT web portal internal application pages and the external email distribution page in the following formats:

**png, jpg, jpeg, jfif, bmp, tif, tiff, gif, pdf**

  1. Navigate to the Managed File Transfer File Sharing page.
  2. Choose a folder from the folder tree and select the Summary tab.
  3. The Preview is available for supported file types.

Publishing a file via MFT

Use the Publishing feature to make a file available for download via a published page. You must be a user in the Publishing Users group to get access to this function.

After you submit your file for publishing, a user from the Publishing Administrators group must approve its publication.

To publish a file, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Managed File Transfer File Sharing site.
  2. Choose the file you want to publish.
  1. Select Publishing in the Summary tab.

    note

    If the Publishing option is not available, you might not be a member of the "Publishing Users" group. Contact your MFT administrator to request membership.

  1. Click New Request.
  2. Under the Publishing Collection, you can select predefined Collections for the file.
  1. Optional: Add a note to the Request Note explaining why the file must be published, and click Submit.
  1. Once approved, you will receive an email from the Boomi Managed File Transfer Notification System confirming the Publishing Request approval.

Unpublishing a file in MFT

Users who have published a file or have Publishing access can also unpublish a file from the MFT portal.

To unpublish a file, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Managed File Transfer File Sharing site.
  2. Select the file you want to unpublish.
  1. Click Publishing in the Summary tab.
  1. Click View/Edit.
  1. Click Modify or Delete to unpublish the file from the Collection.
