Setting up SFTP public key authentication

Requests to enable SFTP public key authentication on a customer MFT site must be submitted directly by the MFT customer. Only the MFT customer (the direct client of MFT) is allowed to submit or register a MFT site.

Requests from their end users or third-party clients will not be accepted.

  • An email from the MFT customer service contact authorizing the addition of the public key to their site (including their own).

  • The service contact need to provide the MFT user account that will be used with the public key authentication.

  • MFT support requires this information to complete the configuration on the MFT servers.

  • The MFT customer must provide MFT with their customer’s public key sent to us via the secure upload link.

note
  • We cannot accept the public key directly from the third party.

  • If the MFT customer’s third-party contacts MFT support directly, MFT Support will notify the MFT customer service contact via email about the request.
