Test connection

The Test Connection option for endpoints is performed from the MFT Cloud instance. This means that MFT Cloud generates the authentication response when it connects to the external endpoint.

The Test Connection function validates multiple components of the authentication string.

Here are the possible responses:

  • If the connection is valid, the response is Valid Connection

  • If there is an issue with the host, the response is Connection Test Failed - No such host is known

  • If the issue is due to an invalid username or password, the response is Connection Test Failed - Permission denied (password)

  • When the port is invalid, the connection test fails to complete.

caution

If a MFT Node manages the endpoint, the connection cannot be tested from the node itself. Keep this limitation in mind when testing connections for such endpoints.
