Clearing a message queue’s dead letters

Clear a message queue’s dead letters through the Actions menu on the Queue Management panel of Runtime Management.

You must have the Runtime Management privilege to perform this task. If you have the Runtime Management Read Access privilege, you cannot perform the task.

Procedure

1. On the Manage menu select Runtime Management.

2. Select the runtime from the list on the left.

3. In Runtime, click Queue Management.

   The Queue Management panel opens.

4. Select the Queue Management tab.

5. If the message queue is a subscriber queue, in the Actions menu for the applicable Publish/Subscribe queue, select Manage Subscriber Queues.

6. In the Actions menu for the message queue, select Clear Dead Letters.

   A confirmation dialog opens.

7. Click OK.

An alternative method, proceeding after step 5, is to navigate to the dead letter list for the queue, click Delete, select All and in the confirmation dialog, click OK.
