Docker basic runtime installation checklist (Linux)
Before you can install the Docker basic runtime on Linux, ensure that your computer meets the system requirements and you synchronize clocks.
Complete the following prerequisites, then install the Docker runtime on Linux:
Check Docker bsic runtime system requirements
Check the Docker installation of a Runtime .
Synchronize clocks
Ensure that the runtime's server clock, including central storage services (such as NFS), synchronize regularly. You can use a Network Time Protocol (NTP) server.
Install the Docker basic runtime
After you complete the prerequisites above, complete the following tasks in order.

Download the local runtime installer and select the Docker 64–bit option.

Run the Docker installer file.
noteDocker must be running on the computer where you run the installer.

(Optional) See the section about maintaining basic runtimes, runtime clusters and runtime clouds. You might want to modify how the runtime runs, change default settings, or even remove it.
