Importing and exporting themes

The Import and Export feature enables you to manage and transfer themes across different tenants or user accounts.

The Import theme feature allows you to import themes from a different user or tenant into your current tenant. Instead of recreating the look and feel from scratch in a new environment, you simply import the theme file to instantly apply the desired styling and configuration to your current theme list.

The Export theme feature provides a critical capability for sharing or migrating your customizations from your current tenant, allowing the theme package to be imported into a different tenant. When you export a theme, the system bundles all its assets, styles, and settings into a single, transferable package. You can then save this file as a backup, share it with another user, or move it to a different tenant as needed.

The Import tool allows you to import a previously exported theme into your current tenant. The Export tool allows you to export a theme from your current tenant so that it can be imported into another tenant.

Importing a theme

To import a theme:

  1. On the main Themes list screen, select Import Themes button.

  2. On the Themes page, either:

    • Drag and drop the .theme file onto the Import Theme field.
    • Click the Import Theme field, browse to the file and click Open.

  3. The Confirm Import dialog is displayed informing you of which tenant you are importing the theme into.

    • Click Confirm to import the file into the tenant.
    • Click Cancel to stop the import process and return to the Import/Export page.

Exporting a theme

To export a theme:

  1. On the main Themes list screen, select Export Theme button.

If the environment is ON, you need to select the environment before you select the theme to be exported.

  1. Select the theme you wish to export from the Select a Theme drop-down menu.

  2. Click on Export Theme where your file is downloaded in the .theme format.

If the tenant has an MCR instance Themes can be exported as an HTML file using the export button at the bottom right of the edit screen.

Running Flows with Themes

After a theme is created or imported, you can apply it when running or testing your Flow:

  1. Open your Flow on the canvas and click the Run button.

  2. In the Run dialog, select the desired theme from the drop-down menu.

  3. The Run URL generated will contain the selected theme name, ensuring the customization is applied at runtime.
