Canvas Help and keyboard shortcuts

The Flow canvas help provides details of keyboard shortcuts and other ways that you can interact with the canvas.

Opening the canvas Help

To show the Flow canvas Help, either:

  • Press Ctrl + H.

  • Click the Help icon on the canvas toolbar.

  1. The Flow canvas Help is overlaid on the canvas, and provides a visual reference guide to useful canvas keyboard shortcuts and other ways that you can interact with the canvas.
  2. To hide the Flow canvas Help, either:
    • Press Ctrl + H again.

    • Click the Help icon on the canvas toolbar again.

Keyboard shortcuts and mouse interactions

The Flow canvas Help details the following keyboard shortcuts and other ways of interacting with the canvas.

Keyboard shortcut / mouse actionDescription
Ctrl+HOpen and close canvas Help.
Ctrl+CCopy a step on the canvas. Refer to Copying and pasting steps on the Flow canvas.
Ctrl+VPaste a copied step onto the canvas. Refer to Copying and pasting steps on the Flow canvas.
Ctrl+FSearch for steps on the canvas. Refer to Searching the Flow canvas.
Period (.)Open the Canvas Settings. Refer to Canvas Settings.
Ctrl+GCombine the selected steps into a group step on the canvas.
Ctrl+Shift+GUngroup the selected group step on the Flow canvas.
Shift+AAuto arrange graph.
Shift+FZoom to fit the entire Flow on the canvas.
Mouse scroll or Plus (+) and Minus (-)Zoom in/out on the canvas.
Left Mouse or EnterSelect a step/outcome.
Left Mouse+Drag or Arrow keysLeft-click and hold anywhere on the canvas, then pan and move around the canvas.
Alt+Left Mouse or LHighlight the path of all outcomes and steps connected to a step. For example, Alt+click on a step to view which outcomes and steps are connected to it on the canvas.
Shift + Arrow keysMove selected step faster (speed scales with zoom level).
Ctrl+Left Mouse or EnterAdd a selected step to multi-selection. Refer to Selecting steps on the Flow canvas.
Double-click or SpaceEdit a step on the Flow canvas.
Right Mouse or MenuOpen the context menu options for that step.
Right Mouse+DragSelect all the steps contained within the canvas selection box.
DeleteDelete the selected step from the canvas.
EscClose all open menus and deselect all steps on the canvas.
SpacebarEdit the currently selected canvas step.
