Email connection
Third-party apps or devices that require you to sign in using only a Username and Password are not supported. This restriction affects both Google Workspace and Personal Gmail, and may result in a connection error. To address this issue, refer to this Handling error message section.
Prerequisites
You need to create an email account.
Procedure
You can connect to Email using one of three methods:
- Gmail OAuth2
- Outlook OAuth2
- Credentials
Gmail OAuth2

Navigate to the Data Integration Account.

Click Connections and select + New Connection.

Choose Email connection.

Enter the Connection Name.

Enter your Google Workspace Email Address.

Select the Gmail OAuth2 credentials type.

Click Sign in with Google (make sure your browser does not block pop-ups).

Select Advanced and click Go to Data Integration.

Enter your Username and Password.

Click Test Connection to verify your connection. If the connection succeeds, you can use this connection in Data Integration.
Handing error message
When using the Gmail OAuth2 Credentials type, you may receive "This App Is Blocked" error message. This is due to company policies that restrict adding third-party applications without explicit approval
To resolve this issue for Google Workspace accounts, you can adjust the settings if you are the Account Administrator.
Procedure

Navigate to Security > Access and data control > API controls (https://admin.google.com/ac/owl) in your Google Workspace account.

Click Manage Third Party App Access.

Select Configure New App.

Use the following Client ID for Data Integration:
934654080921-3if83vsmral3pp3gcrdoh5s74n6agihe.apps.googleusercontent.com and click Search.

Select the Data Integration app.

Choose the Trusted: can access all Google services option before clicking Configure.

Find the Verified symbol.

To establish a successful connection, refresh the Email New Connection page in Data Integration.
Personal Gmail accounts are not supported.
Outlook OAuth2
- Click Connections > + New Connection in the Data Integration Account.
- Choose Email connection.
- Enter the Connection Name.
- Enter your Email Address.
- Select the Outlook OAuth2 credentials type.
- Click Connect To Microsoft Account (make sure your browser does not block pop-ups).
- Enter your Username and Password.
- Click Test Connection to verify your connection. If the connection succeeds, you can use this connection in Data Integration.
If you receive this error message:
Could not connect to Email: Could not generate token. Check your credentials. Error message:
"error_code: invalid_grant, error_description: AADSTS50079
This may be due to a configuration change made by your administrator. In this case, re-connect to your account.
Credentials
- Click Connections > + New Connection in the Data Integration Account.
- Choose Email connection.
- Enter Connection Name.
- Enter your Email Address.
- Choose the Credentials type.
- Enter your Password.
- Enter your Imap Server.
- Click Test Connection to verify connection is up to the task. If the connection succeeds, you can use this connection in Data Integration.
