Database connectivity options
Connecting to an on-premises database
Data Integration is a fully managed, cloud-hosted service and does not include a customer-installed runtime for on-premises deployment. To connect to a database hosted on-premises or behind a firewall, use one of the network connectivity methods described below, such as an SSH tunnel, a reverse SSH tunnel, a VPN, or a Private Link, so that Data Integration can reach your database over a secure path.

Some databases may restrict the use of special characters (double quote ("), dollar sign ($), backtick (`), and backslash ()) in passwords. For full details, refer to the specific database connector topic.
