Monday connection

Prerequisite

You must obtain your "Monday API token" to establish a connection.

  1. Log in to your monday.com account.
  2. Click on your avatar (profile icon) in the bottom left corner.
  3. Select Admin from the menu (Admin permissions are required).
  4. Navigate to the API section.
  5. Generate an API v2 Token.
  6. Copy your token for use in Data Integration.

Creating Monday connection in Data Integration

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Data Integration Account.

  2. Click Connections and select + New Connection.

  3. Choose monday.com.

  4. Enter the Connection Name.

  5. Enter a Connection Name and paste your Monday API Key.

  6. Click Save to create the connection.

  7. Click Test Connection to verify the connection is successful. If the test passes, the connection is ready for use in Data Integration.

Troubleshooting board visibility issues

If some boards from Monday do not appear in the Boards report drop-down within Data Integration, the issue relates to the permissions associated with the API token. Since the Monday API v2 Token is user-specific, it provides access only to boards visible to the user who generated the token.

Solution: Ensure the user who generated the token has access to all relevant boards. If the issue persists, consider the following best practice:

Connection best practices To ensure that all necessary boards appear in the Data Integration UI, create a dedicated Data Integration user in Monday (with admin privileges). Subscribe to this dedicated user only on the boards you need. This approach ensures you expose only the necessary boards, and sensitive boards remain hidden from Data Integration.
