JWPlayer Analytics walkthrough

The JWPlayer Analytics API is similar to the JWPlayer Reporting API (which generates reports like those in the JWPlayer Analytics Dashboard).

To get JWPlayer Management reports (for dimensions reports), use the JWPlayer API.

Prerequisites

Navigate to the Data Integration Account.
Select Create New River from the top right corner of the page.
Choose Data Source to Target as your river type.
In the General Info tab, enter the river name, describe it, and choose a group.
Under Source tab and find JWPlayer Analytics in the list of data sources and select it. (under Marketing).
Under Source Connection, select the connection you created, or create a new one.
Select a report type:
- Analytics: Create a report using the dimensions and metrics available for every JWPlayer user.
- Analytics (Enterprise/Developer): Create a report including premium dimensions and metrics that requires a JW Player Enterprise or Developer license.

Select the report dimensions from the dimensions list. A date dimension is automatically added to every report.

JWPlayer API permits up to two dimensions per report.

Select the report metrics from the metrics list.

Select the time period of the report:

All reports support two kinds of time periods:

Date range:
- Pulls data in the date range between the start and end date provided, including the end date.
- You must select a start date.
- Leaving the end date empty pulls data up to the current time of the river's run.
- Select a timezone offset to send dates based on the offset.
- Use the Last Days Back For Each Run to expand the start date and pull data a number of days before the chosen start date.
Predefined date- A date range defined by Data Integration:
- Day: Yesterday.
- Week (From Monday to Sunday): Week to date, Previous week, Previous week to date.
- Month: Month to date, Previous month, Previous month to date.
- Year: Year to date.
