Harvest walkthrough
Prerequisites
- A Harvest connection.
- You must have Administrator or Project Manager permissions. If you lack these permissions, you can pull only limited data.
Pulling data from Harvest using Data Integration
Procedure
-
Navigate to the Data Integration console.
-
Select Create New River from the left-hand menu.
-
Choose Data Source to Target as your river type.
-
In the General Info tab, enter the river name, describe it, and choose a group.
-
Go to the Source tab, find Harvest in the list of data sources and select it.
-
Under Source Connection, select the connection you created, or create a new one.
-
Select a report from the list. Entities without Report in their name pull raw data about the chosen entity.
-
Choose the Account to pull data on. You can choose only one account.
-
Choose the parameters for the report. Each report has its own options. If a parameter is not required, you can leave it empty to pull all the data without applying that parameter filter.
The parameter boxes displaying your internal Clients, Projects, Users, and so on, may not display all options. However, if you start typing a specific ID or the name of that entity, it appears in the list.
- Choose the extract method. You can choose All, which pulls all data regardless of dates, or Incremental, which lets you pull data between a date range you define.
The Incremental option updates the Start Date of the report every time you run the river.
The Start Date changes to the previous run's End Date. Additionally, you must choose the field to use when pulling data incrementally: the creation date or the update date.
Reports time period
Select the time period of the report:
The reports support two kinds of time periods:
-
Date range:
- Pulls data in the date range between the start and end date provided, including the end date.
- You must select a start date.
- Leaving the end date empty pulls data up to the current time of the river's run.
- Select a timezone offset to send dates based on the offset.
- Use the Last Days Back For Each Run to expand the start date and pull data a number of days before the chosen start date.
-
Predefined date - A date range defined by Data Integration:
- Day: Yesterday.
- Week (From Monday to Sunday): Week to date, Previous week, Previous week to date.
- Month: Month to date, Previous month, Previous month to date.
- Year: Year to date.
