Confluence connection

Updated

Confluence is Atlassian's team workspace and knowledge base, used to create, organize, and collaborate on pages, blog posts, and documentation. Connect Confluence to Data Integration to sync your pages, blog posts, attachments, labels, tasks, and comments into your data warehouse.

Prerequisite

You need an Atlassian account with access to the Confluence site you want to connect, and its site URL, for example yourcompany.atlassian.net.

Authentication methods

You use basic authentication when you create the connection:

  • Basic authentication: Your Atlassian account email and an API token. This method takes a few minutes to set up and the token doesn't expire.

Retrieving your credentials from Confluence

  1. Log in to your Atlassian account at id.atlassian.com.
  2. From your profile, go to Security.
  3. Under API tokens, select Create API token.
  4. Enter a descriptive label for the token so you can identify it later.
  5. Select Create.
  6. Copy the generated token immediately and store it securely. Confluence doesn't show it to you again.
  7. Note your login email and your Confluence site URL. You need both, along with the token, to connect.

Connecting Confluence to Data Integration

  1. Navigate to the Data Integration console.
  2. Select Connections, then select + New Connection.
  3. Search for and select Confluence as the connection type.
  4. Enter a Connection Name to identify this connection.
  5. Enter your Site URL, for example https://yourcompany.atlassian.net/wiki/api/v2.
  6. Enter your Email and API Token.
  7. Select Test Connection to confirm Data Integration can authenticate and reach your Confluence site.
  8. Select Save to finish creating the connection.

Known limitations

  • Confluence limits the number of API requests your account can make, based on your plan. Large accounts may see slower syncs during periods of heavy usage. Data Integration automatically retries requests when this happens.
  • There's no connection-level space selection. Space selection happens per report — see Confluence predefined reports.

If you need a report or object that isn't currently supported, contact support so it can be evaluated for a future release.
