Bing Ads walkthrough

info

Data Integration currently supports Bing Ads API version 13.

This integration enables businesses to streamline the process of collecting, managing, and analyzing Bing Ads data alongside other marketing and business data sources. It provides a comprehensive view of advertising performance, audience insights, and campaign effectiveness.

Connection

To connect Bing Ads with your destination, follow our step-by-step tutorial. Choose a Source Connection after creating a connection.

Predefined reports

Data Integration provides an entry point and recommended approach to access a range of predefined reports. Each report includes a concise data description, a list of customizable fields (if applicable), and the schema mapping.

These reports follow a standardized format, so Data Integration locks specific fields, and you can only access them through the Custom reports.

Custom reports

Select a specific report to pull data from the Klaviyo API v2024-02-15 API.

Pull data from Bing in Data Integration

Bing organizes data in reports. The Data Integration Bing Ads data integration (ETL) tool lets you select a report and choose the list of columns that composes the chosen report.

  • Select the Bing connection or create a new connection according to the instructions above. Click Test Connection to make sure the connection is valid.

  • Select the report to pull.

Available reports
  • Columns: Select the report from the list of reports. Click the input to show a list of all available fields in the report.
  • Accounts: Click to get the list of all available accounts in the Bing connection. Select any account to pull its data for the selected report.

Leave this input empty to pull the results for all the available accounts.

  • Time period: Select the type of time period of the report. It can be a custom date range or a defined time period (For example, Yesterday, last week)
If selecting Date range:
  • Select the start date and end date.
  • Leave the end date empty to pull data until the moment the Data Flow runs.
  • After each run of the Data Flow, Data Integration updates the start date with the end date and clears the end date. This enables the next run to pull data from the end of the previous run.
  • Select the time zone offset. Relevant only if the end date is empty to find the moment of the Data Flow’s run according to the time zone.
  • Days back: Use that input to tell Data Integration to pull data from the given days before the given start date.
note

The Start Date does not advance if a Data Flow run is unsuccessful. If you do not want this default setting, click More Options and select the checkbox to advance the start date even if the Data Flow run is unsuccessful (Not recommended).

  • Select the timezone offset to send the correct dates that consider that offset.

Data aggregation: Select the report's time aggregation. The report contains results according to the selected aggregation. For example, selecting daily aggregation stores each record in the result as a day of data, while selecting weekly aggregation stores each record as a week.

  • Bing Ads makes reporting data available for specified periods of time. The Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly, and Summary values are in months. Bing Ads lists these values here.

  • Bing Ads does not allow all column combinations. To learn more about column restrictions, refer to the column restrictions topic.

Bing Ads kits

Kits are pre-built data models to help data teams immediately create the right data pipelines to tackle common challenges and scenarios.

You can change or customize these readily available pieces of code to fit your company's data needs. They are the best starting point to leverage existing data models that have proven effective in their specific use cases.
