Asana connection
Updated
info
This connector is currently in Early Access. Contact support for details.
Asana is a work management platform used to plan, track, and coordinate projects and tasks. Connect Asana to Data Integration to sync your workspaces, teams, users, projects, tasks, portfolios, and goals into your data warehouse.
Prerequisite
You need an Asana account with a Personal Access Token.
Authentication methods
You use a bearer token when you create the connection:
- Personal Access Token: A token generated from your Asana account settings.
Retrieving your credentials
- Log in to Asana and open your profile settings.
- Go to the Apps tab, then select Manage Developer Apps.
- Under Personal Access Tokens, select Create new token.
- Enter a descriptive name for the token so you can identify it later.
- Copy the generated token immediately and store it securely. Asana doesn't show it to you again.
Connecting Asana to Data Integration
- Navigate to the Data Integration console.
- Select Connections, then select + New Connection.
- Search for and select Asana as the connection type.
- Enter a Connection Name to identify this connection.
- Enter your Personal Access Token.
- Select Test Connection to confirm Data Integration can authenticate and reach your Asana account.
- Select Save to finish creating the connection.
Known limitations
- Custom Fields, Portfolios, and Goal Relationships require an Asana Business or Enterprise plan. These reports return an error on Free or Premium accounts — this isn't a connector defect.
- Time tracking entries aren't currently supported.
- Workspace and Projects are selected when you build a data flow, not on the connection itself — see Asana walkthrough.
If you need a report or object that isn't currently supported, contact support so it can be evaluated for a future release.
