Configuring kits

A Kit consists of a collection of River configurations that deliver rapid value across Data Integration sources and use cases, such as pulling data from Google Ads and pushing it to your data warehouse. The Kit includes all the Rivers and settings needed to run it. By clicking the Kits tab, you can view all our available kits and install them in a few clicks.

Using Kits in Data Integration offers advantages:

  • Rapid integration: Kits in Data Integration lets you rapidly integrate with data Sources and Targets without writing any code.

  • Flexibility: Data Integration Kits offer highly customizable and easily configured solutions to meet specific data needs.

  • Reliability: Data Integration Kits are tested and maintained by the Data Integration team of experts, ensuring they reliability and up-to-date.

Data Integration Kits come in the following types:

  • Single source Kits include data pipelines that move data from the Source to a supported cloud data warehouse Target and any logical transformations needed to form the resulting data model.

  • Use case Kits include data originating from diverse Sources. In this case, Logic Rivers collects data, merges it from different sources, and produces a uniform data model.

  • Actions Kits use Data Integration actions to connect to REST API endpoints. These Kits include the action rivers that define the custom source connection and the Data Source to Target rivers, which use action configurations to ingest data into target tables.

Using kits in Data Integration

  • Selecting a Kit from the Kits Marketplace
  • Configuring it to meet specific data integration requirements
  • Deploying it

Procedure

Step 1: selecting a kit from the kits marketplace

The Kits Marketplace in Data Integration provides a wide range of pre-built Kits for connecting data Sources and Targets. You can browse the Kits Marketplace to find a Kit that meets your data integration requirements.

Step 2: configuring the kit

  • After selecting a Kit, navigate to the Kit description in the Kits Marketplace by clicking Preview on the desired Kit icon.
  • Configure each Kit using the Data Integration user-friendly interface. You can specify the data Sources and Targets you want to connect, configure variables, data transformations, and workflows, and set up scheduling and automation options.

Connections in kits

After importing the Kit, you can select pre-existing Source and Target connections to apply to the imported Rivers, where applicable.

Choose Skip for now to import with a blank Source and Target connections.

To use the kit, you have two options:

  • Swap out blank connections with existing connections.
  • Add credentials.

Variables in kits

Each Kit uses variables to define parameters, including the database names, dataset, or schema related to all target table configurations. In Logic Rivers, the queries also use variables. You only need to define the variable values once, instead of hard-coding each River.

note

Actions Kits have more variables to set when you need parametrization for iterations or authentication (API keys).

Step 3: deploying the kit

After configuring the Kit, you can deploy it to start the data integration process.
