Follow these steps to get started:

  1. Navigate to the Data Integration Console.

  2. Select Help > Onboarding from the left-hand menu.

  3. Setting up your data connections: Create your first connection to a data source or destination.

    • Click +Add Connection to create a new connection.
    • Select the connector type.
    • Enter the required connection credentials.
  4. Create your river or pipeline: Create a Source to Target river to move data. This process extracts data from any application or database, and loads it into your data lake or cloud data warehouse.

    • Click Create Your First River.
    • Choose a Source to Target river.
  5. Transform and orchestrate data using SQL and Python: Use Logic Rivers to transform and manage your data workflows.
Common use cases for Logic Rivers are:

    • Combining data from different sources.
    • Modeling data in your data warehouse with the right dependencies.
    • Preparing data for a BI/dashboarding tool.
    • Handling unstructured data types.
    • Triggering processes in third party applications.
    • Creating workflows to enrich operational systems with data warehouse.

Use SQL Logic steps to perform the following:

    • Perform in-database transformations.
    • Run custom SQL queries using your warehouse syntax.
    • Store results in tables, file storage, variables, or DataFrames.
You can also use Python steps for advanced transformations and automation.
  6. Use pre-built solutions or Data Integration Kits: Use pre-built Data Integration Kits for common integration scenarios. For example, use the Slack Alerts kit to post a message on a specific Slack channel.

  7. Invite your team to join your account: Invite team members to your account so they can:

    • Create and manage rivers
    • Configure connections
    • Review pipelines
    • Maintain shared resources

Leveling up

Enhance your integration capabilities with advanced features:

  • Managing environments: Deploy configurations across development and production environments. Data Integration manages environment-specific settings to ensure consistent deployment.
  • Connecting via REST API: Integrate with any application using custom REST API connections.
  • Activating your data with Reverse ETL: Move data from your warehouse back into operational applications.
  • Building solutions using the API: Automate Data Integration tasks using the platform API.
