  • Description: "Failed to connect to source" indicates a failure in establishing a connection between Data Integration and Pinterest.

Initial Diagnosis:

This error arises from authentication issues, such as expired tokens or incorrect credentials, a change in account permissions that prevents access, or network issues like an IP address allowlist change.

Action steps

  1. Recheck Permissions and Authentication:

    • Ensure that the API credentials (Client ID, Secret, and Access Token) are correct and not expired. Refresh tokens if necessary.
    • Verify that the user has the necessary permissions in Pinterest to access the data required by the Data Integration connector.

  2. Check Internet Connection:

    • Ensure that your network connection is stable and that there are no firewall restrictions blocking the connection to Pinterest.

  3. Review Network Allowlisting:

    • Confirm that the you have allowlisted the IP addresses within your network and Pinterest. This ensures Data Integration can access Pinterest's resources.

  4. Re-establish the Connection in Data Integration:

    • Go to the Data Integration Console, navigate to the Connections section, locate the Pinterest connection, and attempt to reconnect. Ensure that pop-ups are not blocked by your browser as this might interfere with the OAuth authentication process.

  5. Test the Connection:

    • Use the Test Connection feature within Data Integration to verify that the connection to Pinterest is successful once steps above are complete.
