Use advanced connector tools
After an administrator configures and enables tools for an advanced connector, you can access those tools through an MCP client. Advanced connectors use the same MCP client workflow as the existing Boomi Connect connectors.
Connect your MCP client
Use the MCP connection information for the connector configuration to set up your MCP client. The connection information includes the MCP server URL, client ID, and client secret.
Use the existing Boomi Connect MCP client setup instructions for your MCP client. When you connect, authenticate with the identity provider configured for your organization.
Authorize the target application
Some advanced connectors require separate authorization to the target application.
When prompted, authorize the target application with your own account or credentials. This authorization is separate from the administrator authorization used during connector setup.
For connectors that require target application authorization, each end-user generates their own authorization token when they authorize the target application from the MCP client. The token is associated with that user's identity.
Your permissions in the target application apply when you invoke a tool. If your account does not have permission to perform the requested operation, the tool call fails.
Invoke enabled tools
After you connect your MCP client and complete any required target-application authorization, your MCP client can invoke the enabled tools.
You can use only the tools that your administrator configured and enabled through the connector configuration.
