Configuring Call Transformations in Policy UI
The Call Transformations UI now offers a searchable policy picker that auto-populates configuration fields, displays inline help text per parameter, and enforces chaining rules. This UI applies only to new endpoint configurations; existing endpoint configurations remain unchanged.
This feature is supported on Cloud API Management and Boomi Cloud API Management – Local Edition (Tethered). Currently, only pre-built policies can be configured. Custom policies are not supported and are planned for a future release.
Before you begin
Before configuring policies on the new Call Transformations UI, you must complete the following:
- You must have created an API definition and configured an endpoint for it on the Cloud API Management (Control Center).
- You must have access to the new Call Transformations UI. If you cannot view it, contact your Boomi Account Representative to opt in. Once enabled, this cannot be disabled.
Procedure
-
Sign in to the Cloud API Management (Control Center) dashboard.
-
Click API Definitions on the Get Started page or navigate to Design > APIs. This opens the Manage your APIs with API Definitions page.
-
In the Name column, select the API Definition from the list. This opens the Endpoints:
<your api definition>page. -
In the Name column, select the endpoint for which you want to configure Call Transformations policies.
-
Navigate to Call Transformations. This opens the Call Transformations page with Pre-Processing and Post-Processing panels.
-
In the Pre-Processing and Post-Processing panels:
-
Click Add Policy. A New Policy card appears with the Policy Type field.
You can configure multiple policies in the Pre-Processing and Post-Processing panels. If these panels already have a policy, the new policy is added after the last policy in that panel. You can also change the sequence of policies in these panels by clicking the Move up and Move down arrow options.

-
In Policy Type, select a policy from the list or enter the policy name to search for a policy by name. This auto-populates configuration fields, displays inline help text for each parameter, and enforces the chaining rules for the selected policy.
infoSome policies in the Policy Type list may not be available depending on your deployment type. For example, if you are on Boomi Cloud API Management – Local Edition (Tethered), some policies visible in the list cannot be configured. On selecting an unsupported policy, a notice is displayed below the policy description.
-
For a policy that supports both pre-processing and post-processing, you can configure either or both panels based on your requirements.
-
For a policy where post-processing is mandatory, the Post-Processing panel auto-populates when you add a policy to the Pre-Processing panel. Only the supported post-processing policies are shown in the Post-Processing panel.
-
If you want to remove a policy from a panel, click the Delete policy icon on the policy card.
-
If you want to reset a policy configuration to its default state, click Reset to Default. This action cannot be undone.
-
-
Complete all required fields. The fields vary by policy. If the Post-Processing panel auto-populates, you must also complete its required fields.
tipYou can hover over the info icon for each field to view example values.
