User Management for Cloud API Management and Platform Users

The Boomi Cloud API Management dashboard (Control Center) Users page displays the list of Users registered through the Boomi Platform and the Boomi Cloud API Management, and Developers registered through the Developer Portal, including the following:

  • Users created through the Cloud API Management API.

  • Users generated as a part of the Single Sign-On (SSO) process, if enabled.

  • Company personnel and the administrators of your API program.

Roles and Privileges

You can add a user in Cloud API Management depending on the role and privileges assigned to you in the Boomi Platform and Cloud API Management.

Users registered via the Boomi Platform must be assigned one of the following roles in the Boomi Platform to access the Cloud API Management dashboard (Control Center):

  • Cloud API Management Administrator - This role has access to administrative functions in Cloud API Management. You must be assigned with the Administrator role in Cloud API Management to access this role.

It includes the Cloud API Management User and User Management - Limited privileges to create users, and has limited management of user privileges. This role is granted to Boomi Administrator users.

  • Cloud API Management User - This role has access to the Organization User role in Cloud API Management. With this role, you can log in to Cloud API Management, but you do not have access to view any pages within Cloud API Management. To access any page, you need to request the Area Administrator to provide write access.

To learn more about Boomi Platform roles, refer to API Management Roles and Privileges.

Users registered via the Boomi Cloud API Management dashboard must have access to roles and permissions within Cloud API Management (Control Center). To learn more about Boomi Cloud API Management roles, refer to Control Center Roles and Permissions.

Administrator Capabilities and Limitations in Cloud API Management and Platform-enabled Areas

important

Depending on whether you are a Boomi Cloud API Management user or a Boomi Platform user, you can perform the following user management tasks on the Manage > Users page.

Administrators can perform the following management functions in the Control Center for Boomi Cloud API Management areas:

  • Can enable or disable the Boomi Cloud API Management user.

  • Can assign the Service User role to the Boomi Cloud API Management user.

  • Can assign the Control Center role to the Boomi Cloud API Management user.

  • Can add the Boomi Cloud API Management user to the Portal Access Group.

  • Can add API keys to new partner developer users.

  • Can assign new roles to your administrative personnel.

  • Can delete the Boomi Cloud API Management user.

However, on the Manage > Users page, the administrators have the following restrictions in the Control Center for Boomi Enterprise Platform-enabled areas:

  • Cannot enable or disable the Platform user, but can enable or disable Boomi Cloud API Management users in the Platform-enabled area. To learn more, refer to Enabling or Disabling User Access.

    important

The Boomi Enterprise Platform maintains the status of Platform-enabled users. Therefore, Cloud API Management administrators cannot enable or disable Boomi Enterprise Platform users. Hence, the Enable or Disable status is greyed out by default on the Manage your Users and User Access Settings page for Platform-enabled users in the Cloud API Management dashboard.

  • Cannot delete Platform users, but can delete Boomi Cloud API Management or Developer Portal users in Platform-enabled areas.

  • Cannot assign the Service User role to Platform user, but can assign only the Service User role with at least one additional area-level role to Boomi Cloud API Management or Developer Portal users.
