Configuring Content (Portal)

Administrators can use the Portal - Content tab (Manage > Portal > Content) to enable or disable features within the Developer Portal application for Search, Blog, Documentation, Forum, and Interactive Documentation.

For those sections that allow user-generated content, such as BLOG, DOCUMENTATION, FORUM, you can manage moderation levels settings for comments. These settings are applicable only to the registered users. Anonymous users can only browse the Developer Portal and cannot create forum topics or add comments.

The SEARCH panel allows you to enable search across all enabled sections of the Portal. You can enable Search button on the Portal by selecting the Enable Search check box in the Content - SEARCH panel. After enabling the search option, the Search button is shown on the Portal. The content created within the Content tab must be searchable using the Search button.

Blog

The BLOG panel allows you to enable the Blog tab on the Portal. You can enable the Blog tab on the Portal by selecting the Enable Blog check box in the Content - BLOG panel. After enabling the blog option, the Content - BLOG tab is shown on the Portal.

Moderation Level Settings for Comments

You can manage the following moderation level settings for user-generated comments in the Content - BLOG, DOCUMENTATION, FORUM, and WIKI sections:

  • Enabled: With this setting enabled, users can insert comments in the section.

  • Moderated: With this setting enabled, the comments submitted by users in the section are held for the administrator's approval. The administrator can view the moderated comments in the Community section and decide to approve or reject them. After approval, the comments are shown in the Portal.

  • Moderated Spam: With this setting enabled, the comments submitted by users are automatically checked for any spam content. If spam is found in a comment, it is held for the administrator's approval. The Administrator can view the moderated comments in the Community section. After approval, the comments are shown in the Portal.

  • Locked: With this setting enabled, users cannot submit comments in the section if the option Locked is selected. The message New comments are not being accepted at this time is displayed to users.

  • Disabled: With this setting enabled, users cannot submit comments in the section.

Documentation

The DOCUMENTATION panel allows you to enable the Documentation tab and navigation links on the Portal. You can enable the Documentation tab and navigation links on the Portal by selecting the Enable Documentation check box and PUN Navigation check box in the Content - DOCUMENTATION panel.

You can also specify comment settings for the Documentation tab of Developer Portal. Refer to Moderation Level Settings for Comments section for more information about comment settings.

When the PUN Navigation check box is not enabled, the documentation page does not include navigation links, as shown below:

Forum

The FORUM panel allows you to enable the Forum tab on the Portal. You can enable the Forum tab on the Portal by selecting the Enable Forum check box in the Content - FORUM panel.

You can also specify comment settings for the Forum tab of Developer Portal. Refer to Moderation Level Settings for Comments section for more information about comment settings.

Interactive Documentation

The INTERACTIVE DOCUMENTATION panel allows you to enable Interactive Documentation tab on the Portal. You can enable the Interactive Documentation tab on the Portal by selecting the Enable Interactive Documentation check box in the Content - INTERACTIVE DOCUMENTATION panel.

File Manager

The FILE MANAGER panel allows you to enable the File Manager option to upload files within the CMS on the Portal. You can enable uploading files within CMS by selecting the Enable File Manager check box in the Content - FILE MANAGER panel.

If File Manager is not enabled, then users will not be able to upload files through the File Manager feature within the CMS.

The following features in the Content tab are deprecated and visible in the Cloud API Management dashboard only for legacy support.

  • Wiki

  • Tickets

  • Knowledge Base

Procedure

Configure the Portal - Content tab settings to enable or disable these features within the Developer Portal - Search, Blog, Documentation, Forum, and Interactive Documentation.

  1. Click Portal Settings on the Get Started page or navigate to Manage > Portal. This opens the General tab page.

  2. Navigate to the Content tab.

  3. Select the checkbox in each of these panels - Search, Blog, Documentation, Forum, Interactive Documentation - to enable or disable these features on the Developer Portal.

  4. Click Save.
