Widget Trials

Whenever an end user installs a new Widget, the Widget instance is provisioned in as a timed Trial. This allows the end user to test drive and evaluate the Widget for a certain amount of time before deciding to purchase. The Widget Manager displays the remaining trial period for each Widget instance.

During the trial period, there are no data size or record volume restrictions. The only limitation is that Schedules are disabled. This means the end user must run the Widget Process manually from the Widget Manager, even if a schedule was defined in the Widget setup.

When the trial expires, the Widget instance will be disabled and cannot be executed. The Widget must be activated to unlock and continue to use the Widget.

Schedules are disabled during the Trial period.

Configuring Trial Length

Widget developers can configure a Trial Length between 1 and 90 days in the Widget Manager setup. The trial length applies to all Widgets that may be assigned to the Widget Manager.

Modifying the Trial Length will only affect new Widget instances created after making the change. Existing Widget instances still in their trial period will not be affected.

Activating Widgets

To activate a customer's Widget instance and remove the Trial restrictions, you must contact your Boomi Partner Manager. Obtain the Widget instance's Account ID from the About/Preferences screen in the Widget Manager.
