Disk Connector

The Disk Connector allows you to read/write from the underlying file system of the host machine where the Atom is running. The Disk Connector is designed to get files from or send files to directories on the disk to which the Atom has access. The Disk Connector can use a local path, Windows UNC path, or an NFS share on Unix. If you extend your network with a VPN (Virtual Private Network) you can directly access files on your trading partner's network.

Connector Configuration

Configuring a connector to read and write to the underlying file system requires the setup of two different components, the connection and connector operation. This design allows for reusability of the components, which contain connection settings such as the directory path, read/write settings, etc.  Once your connection and connector operation are built, you will need to set up a connector within a process model. When your connector is configured properly within your process, Boomi AtomSphere will be able to map to and from virtually any system using the Disk connector to retrieve files from or send files to disk.

Prerequisites

The Disk Connector requires the following:

  • The Boomi Atom is a process running as particular user on the operating system. That user must have appropriate permissions on the file system to perform the read or write.
  • A networked connection to data locations for shared resources.
  • A Peer to Peer or VPN configuration to access private networks.

See your site System Administrator for assistance with these changes.

Tracked Properties

This Connector has the following Tracked Properties that can be referenced in various step parameters.

The Directory is not a value that can be dynamically set with the Set Properties step

Name Description
Directory The inbound directory of the document.
File Name The inbound/outbound file name of the document.
Disk Connection (Boomi AtomSphere)
Disk Operation (Boomi AtomSphere)
