Creating a Great Plains Connection

The Great Plains Connection contains details about the physical location of the Great Plains database. Great Plains is typically installed on a Microsoft SQL Server database, so the Great Plains Connection configuration is really to the SQL Server database. If you have multiple companies to integrate you will need a separate Connection for each.

Configuration

To create a new Great Plains Connection:

  1. Click New in the Component Explorer of the Build Tab.
  2. Choose Connection as the Type.
  3. Enter a name for the Connection.
  4. Choose the folder in which to save the Connection.
  5. Choose Great Plains as the Connector.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Enter an optional description and go to the Settings Tab.
